Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Trade Rumors 2017: Steelers Turn Down Offers for Antonio Brown
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin may not be pleased with Antonio Brown after his Facebook Live incident, but that does not mean that they are just going to get rid of him.
Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman reported that several teams were interested in acquiring Brown, however, the Steelers turned them down. That should clear up the air. It's obvious that the team isn't going to do anything rash just because Brown made headlines and got people talking for all the wrong reasons. He may have done something stupid, and he is very immature at times, but he's still one of the best receivers in the National Football League (NFL).
Tomlin was absolutely livid when he heard about the video, and he said his player has to learn from this mistake. Well, Brown already apologized for the incident and he also told Bleacher Report that he's not going anywhere. "I'm a Steeler for life," he said. "My goal is always to get better every day. No one will ever outwork me. That's how it will always be for me. That will never change," he added.
During the interview, he admitted what he did was dumb, and he promised that it would not happen again.
"The big thing I learned is that I have some growing up to do, and I'm going to do it. I learned a lot from it and will keep learning. I'm going to rebuild the trust with my teammates and my coaches. I promise you that, too," he went on to say.
Well, it's time to move on because getting rid of Brown is not a good idea. The Steelers were just one win away from the Super Bowl, and Brown was a vital cog in the team's offense along with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and running back Le'Veon Bell. Expect the team to be right in the mix again next season.
