Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Trade Rumors: Darrelle Revis Wants to Play for the Steelers

Now that he has been cleared of all charges, Darrelle Revis can once again focus on football. There's no denying this, but he hasn't been getting much attention on the free agency market so far. Is it because of his legal issues? Teams may not be targeting him right now, but Revis is in great shape and he thinks he can help a certain cornerback-needy team in the American Football Conference (AFC) North.

When Revis left the court after his charges were dismissed, he was surrounded by reporters. He talked about his plans for the future, and interestingly, he said getting the chance to play for his hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, would be "a dream come true."

"That would be great. As a child I watched the Steelers play. Went to a few games as a young child. I played there in high school and college, so to play there professionally that would be awesome too. We'll see. Hopefully we'll have a conversation with the Steelers and see if we can come up with something," Revis said during the media scrum, according to NFL.com's Aditi Kinkhabwala.

"I want to go where I'm wanted at the end of the day. This is where I'm from, I'm proud to be from here, proud to be a citizen of Pittsburgh," he added, according to ProFootballTalk.

During the interview, Revis also talked about how he could play either cornerback or safety for the team he signs with and he said he's healthier and lighter now than he was a year ago.

The question is, do the Steelers want him? Last week, ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reported that the Steelers weren't interested in signing Revis. Will they change their mind now that he has put his off-field issues behind him?

Revis is not ready to call it a day and retire. He still has a lot left in the tank and he can definitely help a team like the Steelers.
