'Plant vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2' Release Date & Update: To Arrive Earlier Than Expected, Grass Effect Z7-Mech Included
Good news for those who have been waiting for the multiplayer third-person shooter video game "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2." Publisher Electronic Arts announced that the game is arriving to store shelves earlier than expected.
According to Gamesided, EA will be releasing the game on Feb. 23, 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It was supposed to be the launch date of "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" but the gaming company changed its plans and surprised the fans with an earlier launch for the "Garden Warfare" sequel. It was originally planned to come out in Q2 2016.
As reported by Digital Trends, EA creative director Justin Wiebe stated that developer PopCap Games is "ready and thrilled" to bring to fans the wacky shooter ahead of its launch date. They said that they incorporated "fan-requested features as well as all-new experiences" that will really make the game enticing and worth the purchase.
The announcement of the release date also came with a gameplay reveal trailer which emphasized the "Grass Effect" gameplay. According to Ubergizmo, the upcoming game will include a "Z7 Mech" inspired by the Mass Effect universe. It will be available as a pre-order bonus and can be accessed right away when the game starts. According to the previous Gamesided article, the bonus will also come along with 14 different emoji character customizations which is certain to be a hit among the avid gamers. Through the emoji characters, gamers can spruce up their character.
As cited in Game Spot, "Garden Warfare 2" is designed to be the "funniest, craziest, most over-the-top shooter yet." The game will have new modes that were not found in the original game. Some of those modes are the 24-player Herbal Assault, the four-player Graveyard Ops co-op mode and the Backyard Battleground mode which is a hub world for the game that permits gamers to connect with friends. They will also be able to see their achievements and collectibles, as well as get into games together easily.
Furthermore, gamers can expect to see 12 new maps that will be "bursting with life and humor" and six new character classes.
