Platinum Trophy for PS4 Version of 'Final Fantasy IX' May Prove Very Difficult to Obtain

Pursuing one particular Trophy could cause players to trip all over themselves

Older role-playing game fans were treated to a pleasant surprise after the folks at Square Enix revealed that the classic adventure title known as "Final Fantasy IX" is now available for the PlayStation 4, though for some players, the joy may have already been replaced by frustration.

If one just so happens to be the type of player known as a "Trophy Hunter," meaning one who tries to obtain all Trophies for each game they play, then they may find that this RPG classic is one that will truly challenge them.

Thus far, one particular Trophy has been pointed to as the reward that will give players hours upon hours of frustration.

The Trophy in question is "Hail to the King," and as players who may have already gone through this RPG previously may have already guessed, this is one connected to the game's notorious jump rope minigame.

In order to obtain this award, players have to successfully jump rope at least 1,000 times without tripping, a challenge sure to test their skill and their patience.

It is still unclear if the jump rope minigame is as difficult as it was back when "Final Fantasy IX" was playable on the PSOne, but if it remains as challenging, then there will likely only be a select few PS4 players who can claim that Trophy and the game's Platinum Trophy too.

Notably, there are more Trophies available that are also linked to other minigames, and these too may prove difficult to acquire.

Fifty-two trophies in total are offered in the game, and players can check out the different things they need to do in order to get them over on Exophase.

Aside from Trophies, the PS4 version of the classic RPG also features high speed and no encounter modes, game boosters and the autosave functionality.

The PS4 version of "Final Fantasy IX" is also being offered at a discounted price until Sept. 26.
