Plaxico Beats 125 MPH Speeding Ticket After Officer's Mistake
Former NFL wide Receiver Plaxico Burress had a speeding ticket dismissed after the officer failed to properly fill out the ticket.
The wide receiver, who won a Super Bowl with the Giants after he scored a touchdown in the closing moments of the game, was issued the ticket in Broward County, Florida for allegedly going 125 mph in a 70 mph zone.
Local reports indicate that Burress' attorney, Bradford Cohen, informed the judge presiding over the case that the charge issued on his client's ticket did not match the infraction that was on the citing officer's copy. It was revealed that the officer had changed his copy after issuing the ticket.

Given that there was a discrepancy over the ticket issued and the actual charge of the ticket had inconsistencies, the judge was forced to dismiss the charge and Burress was free to go.
Burress is currently a free agent and is available to play should any NFL team feel the need to sign him.
Unfortunately, the wide receiver is best known for accidently shooting himself in the leg while he was at a New York City nightclub.
On November 28, 2008, Burress suffered the self-inflicted gunshot wound to his right thigh while he was attending the nightclub LQ when his Glock pistol, which was tucked in the waistband of his pants, began to slide down his leg.
As Burress reached for the gun, it inadvertently discharged, causing the bullet to enter his right leg. He was treated at a local hospital and released the next day.
The controversy began when police found out about the incident from local television reports. New York City has strict guns laws that carry stiff penalties. Two days after the incident, Burress turned himself in to police to answer charges of criminal possession of a handgun.
Burress accepted a plea deal and spent two years in a prison facility in upstate New York.
