'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' Gameplay News: Devs List More Features to Arrive as Game Launches This Year

Developers of the hit battle royale multiplayer game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" recently teased the gameplay features still to come as the title nears its official launch.

In a recent message to its fans through Steam's community platform, developers from PUBG Corp. listed more gameplay features that are yet to be added in the game for its first official PC version and Xbox Game Preview launch "by the end of this year."

In the Steam Community note, the developers reiterated that in the remaining 11 weeks before 2017 closes, their team is endlessly working on additions such as "vaulting & climbing, desert map, new vehicles and 3D replay."

Added to that, PUBG Corp. assured players that they were also fine-tuning the game's optimization and stabilization aspect.

The developers reported that they were primarily working on making sure that they had a stable PC version upon launch. And with the addition of vaulting and climbing mechanics, they realized the need to open "test servers at least three times" for a month as the new features are expected to "have a huge impact" on the overall performance of the game.

This implied that in the remaining time before the PC 1.0 and Xbox Game Preview launch, they will be opening test servers several times where vaulting and climbing, the desert map, and other new contents will be tested.

The specific schedules for these testings were not specified yet, but the developers promised to begin the vaulting and climbing testing by late October or early November.

Meanwhile, the developers announced that the start of the new season will be delayed to Oct. 20 as they needed more time to fix the leaderboard systems.

PUBG Corp. is a subsidiary of the Korean developing company Bluehole. However, most of the game's acclaimed gameplay and designs were attributed to its director and designer Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene.

Since the game's release on Steam Early Access last March, "PUBG" has broken several all-time records in the PC gaming platform. It currently holds the top spot by having the most number of concurrent players.
