'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' News: Developers Update Anti-Cheat System; Promise 'Stronger Actions' Including Banning Cheaters
Developers of the hit video game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" recently announced they were updating its anti-cheat system and promised to impose "stronger actions," including banning cheaters from accessing the game.
The PUBG development and community team previously posted a message for its players and fans that mainly tackled the issue of the existence of cheaters in the game. The team opened their statement by apologizing to players "for the inconvenience caused by the cheaters." They also expressed regret that they still had a lot of matters to address in making the game "a safe and fair environment."
Aside from that, PUBG developers promised that they were increasing all efforts to identify and sanction game cheaters in "a more proactive manner" with the hopes of soon banning most of them from the community.

"We will use all available resources to combat cheaters and foster a safe and fair in-game environment. We will also continue to take actions against those who develop and distribute cheats," the PUBG team said in the statement.
The developers also reiterated that they were adopting tools and platforms that would help them easily detect cheaters "with unusual gameplay patterns." In the same statement, the group confirmed that those tools have been activated as of Friday, Nov. 3, along with "additional measures" not specified in the message.
Meanwhile, for those caught cheating in PUBG's system, the developers promised that the consequences will be severe to the extent that the cheaters might be permanently banned from accessing the game. "When unusual gameplay patterns are detected from an account, that account will be temporarily suspended and investigated," the development team explained.
They added: "We will take stronger actions to find and ban cheaters, while at the same time taking good care to not harm innocent players. Next week, we will be deploying yet another patch related to cheat detection."
Before the statement was released, PUBG developer Bluehole used the BattlEye platform to combat cheaters in the game. Last month, they announced that they had punished as many as 322,000 players caught cheating.
The PC version of the battle royale-themed game will be released before 2017 ends.
