'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' Release Date News: Xbox One Launch Confirmed in December
This week, developers of the hit video game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" announced when it was going to be released on the Xbox One.
As expected, the game will be out for its first-ever console launch in December. The announcement was made by game creator Brendan Greene, aka PlayerUnknown, and Chang Han Kim of PUBG Corp. just in time for Paris Games Week.
Like it did on the PC platform, the Xbox One version of "PUBG" will first be offered as a work-in-progress title and will be accessible through the Xbox Game Preview program.
In its official website, the Xbox Game Preview program was described as "a way for our fans to preview and purchase work-in-progress digital titles, participate in the development process and help developers make Xbox One games the best they can be."
Meanwhile, the PUBG Corp. CEO wrote in a statement on the Xbox news page: "We're approaching development on Xbox One with the same community-driven focus that we've taken with the game on PC. As a result, the ultimate battle royale experience that fans play on Xbox One will be slightly different than what players know today on PC."
Along with the announcement of the Xbox One preview, the developers have also confirmed that they are "on track" with the promised release of the "PUBG" version 1.0 and it would be out for the PC before the year ends.
While its final version for the PC has yet to be given a specific launch date, Kim promised that it will be out by late December.
Meanwhile, Kim added that while they are working on the development of the PC and Xbox One versions of the game at the same time, "they both have their own separate roadmaps." But ultimately, their goal is for both ports to have the exact same features and gameplay elements in time.
To celebrate the Xbox One launch, developers are offering various cosmetic packs namely the PUBG Warrior Pack, the PUBG Accessory Pack and the PUBG Tracksuit Pack, which are exclusive to the console version for a very limited-time.
The last-man-standing video game "PUBG" will arrive for the Xbox One on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
