PlayStation Network 'Golden Week' Sale Offers Discounts for All Games Japanese
"Golden Week" in Japan is not happening until Friday, April 29, but the North American store of the PlayStation Network has launched its own celebration of the holiday with its "Golden Week" Sale that started a few days ago and will run until May 3, Monday. The North American store of PSN has always held a special sale for "Golden Week" and this year is no exception. PlayStation Plus subscribers get additional discounts on top of the sale prices.
Because it is a Japanese holiday, the store in North America is giving discounts on Japanese games, offering as much as 75% off certain game titles. According to a report in N4G, there are more than 71 games included in the discount list, for consoles PS3, PS4 and Vita.
In particular, Japanese role-playing games are included in the sale, so RPG gamers in North America can celebrate and grab the titles they have been eyeing for some time. Among the notable titles included are those that were only released last year, namely "Persona 4: Dancing All Night," "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD," "Gravity Rush Remastered" and "Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth."
A Polygon report highlighted a few of the games and their discounted prices: "Digimon Story" (PS4) for only $35.99; "Persona 4" (Vita) for only $30.00; "Yakuza 5" (PS3) for only $23.99; "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" (PS4) for only $24.99 and "Gravity Rush Remastered" (PS4) for only $18.00. GameSpot also noted that fans of the "Mega Man" series can also complete their collection as the games in the series are on sale, such "Mega Man 8," "Mega Man Legends" and "Mega Man Maverick Hunter X." The report also noted that a rare PS1 game is on sale as well, which is "The Misadventures of Tron Bonne" for only $1.49.
Aside from games, Japanese movies are also on sale, including "Dragon Ball Z" and "Ghost in a Shell" animated movies.
