PlayStation Plus April Free Games Available Starting April 5
As Sony detailed what was in store for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of April, a report in Polygon called the line-up as "one of the weaker months in recent memory." The line-up of six free games, one for each platform, is not as impressive as the free games and according to the report it looks as if Microsoft may have outdone its competitor this time around.
Every month, subscribers of PlayStation Plus get up to six games for free to be downloaded. It usually includes two PS3 games, two PS4 games and two PS Vita games. This month, starting April 5, a new line-up of games can be downloaded for free.
According to the report and the PlayStation blog, the PS3 games up for grabs this month are Ubisoft's "I Am Alive" and Fluffymoon's "Savage Moon." "I Am Alive" is the survival video game that was made by Ubisoft's Shanghai studios which debuted on the PlayStation Network in 2012. "Savage Moon" is a 2009 release, originally for both the PS3 and the PSP. It is a tower defense strategy game wherein players need to defend a remote mining facility.
For PS4 owners, the free games available are another Ubisoft title "ZombiU" and "Dead Star" by Armature Studios. "ZombiU" was originally made for the Nintendo Wii U console in 2012, but eventually branched out to other consoles in 2015, including the PS4. It is a survival horror video game with zombies (of course) set in London. "Dead Star" on the other hand is a multiplayer space shooter game, which debuted in 2015.
PS Vita on other hand can choose between "Shutshimi," an arcade style shooting game which features a muscle-bound fish who is out to defend the seas, and "A Virus Named Tom," where players get to control a virus named Tom, who is out to seek revenge in the name of a mad scientist who was recently sacked. This game is full of action puzzles which players need to solve in order to progress in the game.
