PlayStation Plus Free Games: 'Broforce' Chosen For 'Vote To Play' For March
The PlayStation Plus community has spoken: after concluding the "Vote to Play" initiative where members voted for the game that they want to include in the list of free games for the month of March, the side-scrolling action game "Broforce" got the most number of votes and has been revealed as the first free game on PlayStation Plus. According to a report in GameSpot, while members of PS Plus are waiting for the official line-up of free games for the month of March, "Broforce" has already been announced.
"Broforce" was the favorite among the three games up for selection, which also included the speed platform game "Action Henk" and the arcade-style speed shooter "Assault Android Cactus." At one point, "Action Henk" was leading in the poll but eventually "Broforce" took the lead.
"Broforce" is a side-scrolling "run and gun" shooting game that was developed by Free Lives. It was earlier released in October 2015 for PC, OS X, and Linux and is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 console this year. The game is described as one that brings back the 80's-era action heroes and their moves, coupled with an online multiplayer experience. The game's publisher is Devolver Digital.
With this announcement for the PS Plus community, the game will be officially released for the PS4 on March 1 and it will be for free for PS Plus subscribers.
The PS Plus' "Vote to Play" campaign started on February 9, when voting for the March free game opened. Voting recently closed, resulting in the announcement of the most-voted game. Sony instituted this new voting system as a way of reaching out to its community.
Other free games in March for PS Plus have yet to be announced, but these will be ready for download come March 1, together with "Broforce." Currently, February freebies are still available until the end of the month, exclusively for active PS Plus subscribers.
