PlayStation VR News and Updates: Device Will Arrive With Free Games; 'DriveClub,' 'Battlezone,' and More
The Free Demo Disc for the PlayStation VR Will Come With Eight Free Games
With the scheduled release of the much anticipated PlayStation VR on October 13, PlayStation just announced that the virtual reality gaming gadget will come with free games. The basic VR setup costs $400 sans the peripherals, with additional cost for the PlayStation Move and PlayStation Camera.
To seemingly increase the value of the device itself, Sony is throwing in a demo disc along newly purchased VR headsets. The demo disc will come with a total of eight games for the users to try out and immerse in the new VR environment. We now take a closer look at each of these games.
Battlezone
The remake of the classic Atari video game allows users to experience the battlefield in the powerful Cobra tank. The VR experience gives users a first-person perspective in the newly redesigned and modernized graphics and intense gameplay.
DriveClub VR
Being one of the highlights of the demo disc, users can dive in to the world of DriveClub and live through the gameplay. The high-octane racing game takes the streets right to the user's grasp with thrilling rides and fast-paced chases.
EVE: Valkyrie
This space shooter combat game is one of the first games available for VR devices. The visual aesthetic is in itself a masterpiece balanced by the intense gameplay crowded with space battles. Shoot or blast your way through enemy fighters in this truly exhilarating game.
Headmaster
Now a little something for the avid sports fans. The Football Improvement Centre inside the game lets the user stay active by letting the user kick the soccer ball to score points, all using the head. The increasing challenge with each level keeps the game fresh and stimulating.
PlayStation VR Worlds – Ocean Descent
This would be one of the five offerings in the PlayStation VR Worlds game. Experience the perils of Ocean Descent as you submerge in this visually stunning game. As you submerge in the waters, try your best to survive and uncover the secrets of this lost world.
RIGS Mechanized Combat League
Another one of the games for active sports enthusiasts, RIGS Mechanized Combat League allows the user to control a robot. The elaborate and vigorous fighting system gives a glimpse of what the future holds for combat games.
Tumble VR
The classic block stacking game gets reinvented to full three-dimension. The Jenga-like gameplay allows users to build various structures and solve puzzles throughout the game. A co-op mode allows a second player to join the game, which does not require a separate VR device.
Wayward Sky
This game has the weird habit of switching from first person to third person point of view. Solve puzzles along the way while exploring what lies beyond the beauty of the clouds to search for the character's father. The visuals give-off a relaxing vibe for the ultimate gaming experience.
