In an announcement made prior to the patches' release, Niantic Labs mentioned several Pokémon such as Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile were set to arrive soon. Apart from the 80 Pokémon, there will also be additional gender-specific variations that will arrive alongside other new game features included in the Android and iOS patches.

The mentioned patches also bring with them a list of new features including new encounter mechanics. Niantic Labs warns trainers to not be surprised by how the Pokémon will react once they are found in the wild.

To help trainers enhance their catching skills, the game developer is adding new item carousels where players can select Berries and Poké Balls without having to leave the encounter screen.

In relation to the new berries, the patch notes have also mentioned there will be two new Berries to be called the Nanab and Pinap Berries. These need to be used wisely as Nanab Berries will slow down a Pokémon which will make it easier to catch, while Pinap Berries, on the other hand, will reward the trainers with double Candy rewards after successfully catching a Pokémon.

Niantic Labs also promised that they are cooking up more ways for Pokémon to evolve in the hit augmented reality game. The upcoming game patch will finally allow Pokémon from the Kanto region to grow into a creature characterized to spring from the Johto region. Trainers are also advised to watch out for new Evolution items placed in various PokéStops that are required for the new evolution mechanics.

Trainers at "Pokémon GO" can also expect a set of new avatars and wider options in the game's wardrobe. Along with the new features, Apple Watch players will also get a connection stability fix. In general, Niantic Labs promise several bug and minor text fixes.
