'Pokémon Go' Gen 2 Evolution Guide: More Eeveelutions Available, Fresh Naming Tricks Discovered
New naming tricks can allow 'Pokémon Go' players to obtain Espeon and/or Umbreon
With more Gen 2 Pokémon now available inside "Pokémon Go," this means that players will also have new creatures to collect and among them are two new Eeveelutions.
For those who may still be unaware, there's a Pokémon inside the game known as Eevee that can evolve in different ways.
Prior to the arrival of the Gen 2 Pokémon, Eevee could evolve into three different creatures – Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon – and while players could rely on randomness to determine which one they got, they could also use naming tricks to receive exactly which particular Eeveelution they wanted.
Noted in a Eurogamer report, players could name the Eevee as Pyro if they wanted a Flareon, Sparky if they desired a Jolteon, or Rainer if what they sought was a Vaporeon.
Now, the naming trick for getting specific Eeveelutions has expanded due to the arrival of more Gen 2 Pokémon.
With Espeon and Umbreon now in the game as well, players can now employ different naming tricks to acquire these two creatures.
According to a recent report from Twinfinite, players can now name their Eevee as Sakura if what they want to add to their growing roster of Pokémon is an Espeon. If what a player wants is an Umbreon, then they can name the Eevee as Tamao prior to moving forward with the evolution.
As the website added, it's also possible to get the new Eeveelutions inside "Pokémon Go" without utilizing the naming tricks, though randomness will be involved then.
One more thing, some players posted previously on Reddit that the naming tricks for Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon didn't work for them 100 percent of the time, so there's no guarantee that the ones for Espeon and Umbreon will always work as well.
More news about the new features recently introduced inside "Pokémon Go" should be made available soon.
