'Pokémon GO' Gen 3 Update: Next-generation Update Expected To Coincide With The Release Of Halloween Event

While Niantic and The Pokémon Company are still taking their sweet time before announcing the release of "Pokémon GO" Gen 3, speculations claimed that players of the popular augmented reality mobile game will soon get their hands on the latest update very soon.

Reports claimed that the third generation of "Pokémon GO" will be released by the end of the month. This means that it could be included in the highly-anticipated Halloween Event 2017 with the introduction of a new batch of Pokémon.

The speculations began after The Pokémon Company appeared to drop some hints on its website in early October. According to the game studio, the upcoming Halloween season will feature a special time for "Pokémon GO" players.

"Plenty of good stuff is coming to the game later this October, and we can't wait to get out and about to see what sort of excitement we can scare up while catching new Pokémon to fill out our Pokédex," the game studio stated.

Another report from Forbes claimed that Halloween could be the perfect time for the release of "Pokémon GO" since it will come approximately eight months after Gen 2 came out in the market in Feb. 17, which is also said to have been unveiled six months after the game's first generation was introduced in July 2016.

However, Niantic has yet to confirm if the speculated release date of the "Pokémon GO" Gen 3 will turn out to be true. For the meantime, the game developer released the full patch notes for the latest "Pokémon GO" version 0.77.1 update for Android and 1.47.1 update for iOS.

The patch notes revealed that the new version of the game will feature a new confirmation dialogue that pops up when trying to move the costumed Pokémon and prevent the costumed Pokémon from being mass transferred as well.

The new update also comes with a resolution of several bugs, including the occasional errors while joining the battle in Gyms, the incorrect number of Trainers that gear up for a battle, the resetting of Raid Battle lobby after clicking on the game's items button, and the problems in the registration of some Curveballs.

Details about the release of the "Pokémon GO" Gen 3 is expected to be announced soon.
