'Pokémon Go' Halloween Event 2017 Latest News: Gen 3 Pokémon, Shinies and More
The "Pokémon Go" Halloween Event for 2017 is in full swing, as Niantic bring seasonal treats to players of the mobile game. The company announced a few new additions coming from "Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire" in the form of Ghost Pokémon, but players discovered even more than what was revealed.
Niantic first announced their event for the spooky season as their way of bringing over a few new pets from the third generation of Pokémon games, in the form of several Ghost-type Pokémon from the Hoenn region. That's on top of a Pikachu variant in a cute hat, as well as double rewards.
"Pokémon Go" supposedly has Sableye, Banette, and a few other Ghost-type Pokémon this season, as well as extra Candy rewards from catching, hatching, and transferring Pokémon. Players would soon discover that's not all that's going on with the new event.

Aside from the Gen 3 Pokémon named in Niantic's announcement, players found several more Ghost-types lurking about, according to Eurogamer. The current number of newly-found Pokémon currently sits at five, including Duskull, Dusclops, Shuppet, Sableye and Banette.
That's not all, though, as confirmed Shiny versions of these Pokémon could double that number to ten, according to Slash Gear. A Shiny Sableye and Duskclops have been confirmed as of this time, with more expected to be discovered before the event ends on Nov. 2.
Other existing Pokémon in the game saw an increased number of spawns as well, especially those that would fit in for this Halloween event. Players are seeing more Gengar, along with their pre-evolutions Ghastly and Haunter. There are more Zubat, Golbat and Crobat milling around as well.
Trainers are also encountering more Murkrow, Misdreavus, Cubone and Marowak. Players looking to get their Houndour and its evolution Houndoom will do best to take advantage of the increased spawn, too.
For some odd reason, the coral Pokémon Corsola also saw a huge boost in numbers in the water biomes. While this may be a glitch on Niantic's part, trainers can take advantage of this over the next three days.
