Pokemon Go Latest Trick, Tips & Updates: How to Get a Million XP in a Day; Niantic's Banning Policy Underway
One million XP in 24 hours? Pokemon Go player Jimmy Derocher gave "partial proof" that it is possible to amass a million XP in one day. Careful planning, functional math, and untiring legs are what it takes. The milestone can also end with a soft ban.
Pokemon Go anti-cheating policy and Web 2.0
Since Niantic introduced the banning policy to weed out Pokemon Go from suspected cheaters, players have devised ways to make the game more exciting. Several accomplished trainers set the challenge on who can make the engine raise the red flag for cheating. The simple rule is to use the coolest legitimate trick a player can think of and not actually cheat. Derocher's "million XP a day" proved to be on top of the list right now.
Derocher hyped up the event though social media to catch attention. He even made a livestream on Twitch, converting the hunt into a charity event. Purportedly, 25 percent of the raised donations will go to an international aid organization and a pet foundation in Austin, Texas. Derocher raised $60 from crowd-sourcing.
Jimmy's Loop
Derocher admits in making the preparation a week before the day of implementation. The aim for the Texas-native is to compress his earlier accomplishment of 1 million XP made in a week into a day. The primary ingredient to cook this trick is to draw a 320-meter "Jimmy's Loop" and walk over and over around it.
There are also rules to strictly follow when making this loop. First is to set five stops or laps inside the loop. Another critical rule is to complete a lap within five minutes or minimize it as much as possible. Stopping to catch a Pokemon should be avoided as much as possible unless they are creatures that are "important". Then the trainer should reverse direction very often after laps completion.
One million XP
There is always a drawback when Pokemon Go trainers invent a trick so crazy and unique. A trainer can be suspected of using a bot or unfair tricks and the server will spring into action by making a soft ban. Derocher suffered this wall after 600 thousand XP at the 13th hour.
Apparently, Pokemon Go anti-cheating measures will suspect bot intrusion after non-stop walking and massive experience gain. What will happen is the creatures will shy away whatever type of PokeBall is used to get them. The XP gain will also stop until soft ban is lift.
Derocher proved that with eleven hours remaining and 400 XP to go, a million is mathematically possible. Derocher then wrapped up the quest with a statement for the developer that some Pokemon Go limitations are hurting hardcore players.
