'Pokémon Go' Rumors: Trading Code Reportedly Removed From the Game, What Does That Mean for the Future of This Feature?
Niantic CEO John Hanke recently indicated that trading is still coming to 'Pokémon Go'
The new Gen 2 creatures that were added to "Pokémon Go" are the ones getting all the attention right now, but it's also worth noting that some significant elements may have been removed from the game recently.
According to a recent report from Pokémon Go Hub, lines of code related to some kind of trading system that were previously found in the game have apparently been taken out.
Now, it is worth noting that the lines of code removed were not being used, so it is not like their sudden disappearance will affect the current game.
Still, the removal of the trading code is significant, but that does not mean that this particular feature will no longer be a part of the game in the future.
Speaking recently to Vice's Waypoint, Niantic CEO John Hanke confirmed that trading is still coming to the game. He also hinted that it or possibly PVP might already be in the game had the servers just worked ideally right from launch day.
That revelation from Hanke seems to suggest that he and the other developers are still focused on adding trading to "Pokémon Go" sometime soon, but if that's the case, then why were the lines of code removed recently?
It is possible that the trading code that was previously in the game still needed to be reworked significantly and keeping those lines where they were was not really necessary at this time.
In any case, even if the lines of trading code have been removed, players can still expect that this important feature will be added eventually.
The removal of the lines of code may just indicate that players will have to wait a little longer before they see trading inside the game.
More news about "Pokémon Go" and when this augmented reality game may feature a trading component should be made available in the near future.
