Pokemon New Year Events Roundup: 'Pokken Tournament's' New Year Event, 'Pokemon Shuffle' Events, Mew Event
The New Year is ripe with new events for "Pokemon" fans. There's a New Year event for "Pokken Tournament," at least a couple of "Pokemon Shuffle" events, and a Mew event.
"Pokken Tournament's" New Year Event
"Pokken Tournament" fans in Japan can participate in a new event that started on Monday, Dec. 28, and ends on Jan. 11, according to Serebii, a site about all things "Pokemon." The New Year event will be played on "Pokken Tournament" arcade machines. Participating players will be rewarded with bonuses. These include an increase in a Pokemon's Skill Level from the previous Level 25 cap to Level 50, various clothing items, 200,000 Gold, and a new avatar. A special bonus will also be available that allows players to own the Farfetch'd and Electrode Support Set if they don't have this yet.

"Pokemon Shuffle's" Talonflame and Safari events
For "Pokemon Shuffle" players, at least two events are available for them to participate in, according to Serebii.
There's the Talonflame event. This is a timed stage and the only stage where players can get the avian Pokemon Talonflame. The event is ongoing and ends next year on Jan. 12.
"Pokemon Shuffle" is also currently holding a new Pokemon Safari. This event has seven Pokemons: Boldore, Gigalith, Numel, Camerupt, Roggenrola, Fletching, and Fletchinder. The "Pokemon Shuffle" Safari event is also ongoing and ends on the same day as the Talonflame event.
"Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's" Mew Event
"Pokemon" fans in Japan have another event to look forward to, this time it's the "Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's" Mew Event.
According to PokeBeach, another Pokemon-centric site, citing the official Pokemon Japan website, those who will purchase "Pokemon Green, Red, Blue, and Yellow" from the Nintendo eShop in Japan between Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 will be given a special Serial Code that they can use to download the Pokemon Mew for free. The code will work for the first year of the game's distribution. This means players will be able to download Mew for free until March 31, 2017.
