'Pokémon Sun and Moon' News: Gifts to Check Out This Month
As the release of "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" draws closer, Nintendo racks up its giveaways for players of "Pokémon Sun and Moon."
The studio is offering up a bunch of free Mega Stones for pocket monsters that are often difficult to come by in the game.
"Pokémon Sun and Moon" players can unlock Mawilite, Beedrillite, Audinite and Medichamite by using the code INTIMIDATE. To get Pidgeotite, Steelixite, Heracronite and Houndoominite, gamers should key in AZUL.
Sceptilite, Blazikenite, Swampertite, Cameruptite and Banettite can be accessed with the code MATSUBUSA while SABLEVOLANT can net players Tyranitarite, Abomasite, Manectite and Aggronite.
"Pokémon Sun and Moon" gamers can use the code POYONG to unlock Galladite, Gardevoirite, Lopunnite and Diancite while DRACHE should make Ampharosite, Altarianite, Latiosite and Latiasite available.
All these codes can be used until Oct. 31, but players will only have until Oct. 23 to capture the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow via a free download code that players in the United States can get from GameStop while players in the United Kingdom can go to "participating retailers."
In "Pokémon Sun and Moon," gamers usually have to progress to level 50 to get the Fighting and Ghost-type Pokémon. Nintendo is giving them a chance to unlock the Pokémon without going through all that trouble.
Also, as part of the 20th anniversary of the "Pokémon" franchise, Nintendo is giving players the chance to get one out of six versions of Pikachu using the code PIKACHU20. This promotion has started the week of Sept. 29. So far, three iterations have come and gone.
The Unova hat-donning version will be available up to Oct. 16. Players who want the Kalos hat version will have to wait the week of Oct. 17 to unlock it. By Oct. 24 to 30, the Alola hat Pikachu will be up for grabs.
Finally, Nintendo is giving "Pokémon Sun and Moon" owners the chance to get another Mythical Pokémon Celebi when they purchase "Pokémon Gold or Silver" from the 3DS Eshop by Sept. 21, 2018.
