'Pokémon Sun and Moon' News, Update: Pikachu Dons Ash's Iconic Hats in Latest Promotion
Nintendo is giving "Pokémon Sun and Moon" players the unique chance to get versions of Pikachu donning hats worn by "Pokémon" anime protagonist Ash Ketchum.
Serebii.net acquired a copy of the latest issue of the Japanese gaming magazine CoroCoro, in which it was revealed that those who preordered tickets for "Pocket Monsters the Movie: I Choose You" will get the chance to acquire Ash Hat Pikachu.
There will be six hats, all of which "Pokémon Sun and Moon" players will find familiar since Ash sported them over the course of the anime series.
Players will get a special code that will unlock the hat. As for which hat "Pokémon Sun and Moon" get to download, Nintendo has designated special dates in which players can get them.
The Pikachu with the original iconic hat can be obtained from April 15 to May 1 and then July 19 to July 31. Those who would prefer the Hoenn cap can download it on May 3 to May 15 and August 2 to August 14.
The Sinnoh cap will be up for grabs from May 17 to May 29 and again on August 16 to August 28. "Pokémon Sun and Moon" players can go for the Unova cap from May 31 to June 12 and August 30 to Sept. 11.
From June 14 to June 26 and then Sept. 13 to 25, "Pokémon Sun and Moon" players can grab the Kalos Cap. The Alola cap will be available from June 28 to July 17 and then on Sept. 27 to Oct. 9.
The special code will also net "Pokémon Sun and Moon" trainers the Pikashumium Z-Crystal, which gives Pikachu the ability to use its very own special Z-Move — 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt.
There is plenty of time to pre-book tickets for "Pocket Monsters the Movie: I Choose You" as the film won't hit theaters in Japan until July 17.
