Familiar characters such as Ash from previous animated iterations of Pokemon will make their return in this new series.

Pokemon X and Y players will receive another great benefit soon as Nintendo is giving them the opportunity to obtain the legendary Celebi for free when downloading the Pokemon Bank app from the company's eShop.

The offer includes this classic event-only Pokemon that was last distributed in the U.S. at GameStop stores in early 2011. Pokemon players who use the Bank before Sept. 30 will get Celebi for free.

The creature is a psychic/grass type Pokemon, but could end up changing into a Fairy type in order to fit the themes in the latest Pokemon offering.

Pokemon Bank launches on Dec. 27 and anyone who downloads it before Jan. 31 of next year will receive a free 30-day trial of the service for free. Bank will normally cost $4.99 per year.

The app allows Pokemon players to store up to 3000 Pokemon in their own private cloud space. Bank requires an internet connection and will come with Poke Transporter which allows players to bring their old Pokemon from games such Pokemon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 into X and Y.
