Pokemon X and Y Release Date Party at Nintendo World Store Featuring Special Events and Giveaways
Pokemon X and Y will be having big release day events around the globe but perhaps the biggest one will be in New York City at the Nintendo World Store.
According to GameTrailers.com, the store will be hosting a launch day event on October 11 beginning at 8p.m. and running to the release, Oct. 12, at 1a.m. The party will include introductions to the newest characters of the Pokemon universe as well as a peek at the new handheld, the 2DS.
The game will go on sale at midnight.

"In addition to offering the games for sale, the event will feature a Pokémon costume showcase that will encourage fans dressed as their favorite characters from the Pokémon games to display their clever costumes on stage. For fans who want to participate, this is a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show the world their love of Pokémon," Nintendo said on their site.
In addition to the mentioned festivities, there will be a DJ, Pokemon trivia, costume characters, giveaways, and special areas to try out the games.
Until the launch of the game Nintendo is offering a special 3DS Pokemon X and Y bundle.
The model will be a 3DS XL, and come in a blue X version and a red Y version with pictures of new legendary Pokemon, Yveltal and Xerneas.
The handheld comes with the standard AC adapter, stylus, SD Card, AR Cards reports CinemaBlend.
The unit will retail for $199.99, and will not include the game.
Pokémon X and Y is bringing a change to one of the most popular series' of all time by adding a new feature called "Mega Evolutions."
In the game's universe, players capture these Pokémon to train and battle against other opponents. In an RPG style of play, the stronger your Pokémon gets, the more it will level up. Once one of these creatures reaches a certain level, they evolve into a stronger form of themselves. Some Pokémon, however, require a certain stone or scenario to make them transform. In X and Y certain Pokémon will need a Mega Stone.
