'Pokken Tournament' News: Game's Pro Pad Accessory Not Exclusive To Wii

After having been thought of initially that the Hori Pokken Tournament Pro Pad is exclusive to Wii U, a recent discovery revealed that it is not totally the case after all. This came after the developer of "Space Dave" tested the accessory to a PC and found out that the computer didn't have a problem recognizing the analog-free gamepad.

While it is true that this piece of discovery is good news to those who have already purchased the device, which was created specifically as an accessory to the game "Pokken Tournament," it doesn't change the fact that the Pokken Tournament Pro Pad still has limited use. As the device only comes with two bumpers, four face buttons, two menu buttons and the ZL and ZR buttons resting at the bottom are all the buttons, it simply means that it works well for a game like M.U.G.E.N. and other arcade-type of fighting games.

Destructoid opined that the Hori Pokken Tournament Pro Pad is very similar to the outdated SNES controller. Hence, it is ideal for gamers who play a lot of fighting games on PC, such as Mortal Kombat.

The limited use of the controller left a lot of those who purchased it disappointed, especially those who planned on using the accessory for other games, such as Tekken Tag Tournament. With this recent discovery, though, it turns out that the Pokken Tournament Pro Pad can actually be employed for some other PC games.

Nonetheless, although this is good news to those who already have the Pokken Tournament Pro Pad, gaming experts talk those planning to purchase out of their decision. While it's true that the gaming accessory won't bore holes in the pocket, as it is only priced at $25, there are many devices that can serve the same purpose at a much cheaper price. For instance, the Xbox 360 controller can be purchased for $19 only.
