'Poldark' Season 3 Spoilers: More Conflicts Await Ross and Demelza; Ross-George Rivalry Reaches New Heights

Filming for the third season of the drama series "Poldark" is currently ongoing, and after season 2 has left the characters' fates in a precarious position, viewers have been waiting with bated breath for what's coming next when season 3 finally airs this year.

The season finale of "Poldark" saw the falling out and gradual reconciliation of married couple Ross (Aidan Turner) and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson). But just when things seemed to have turned for the better for the two of them after Ross professed his undivided love for his wife, the nature of Elizabeth's (Heida Reed) pregnancy was put in questionable light.

Is Ross the father of the child she's bearing? And if he is, then how will this revelation affect the characters' relationships going forward?

But while there have been speculations that this could finally do Ross and Demelza's marriage in, set photos of the onscreen couple reportedly suggested otherwise. The Daily Express spotted them playing the part of a happily married couple during their initial filming in South West England.

However, this could well be the calm before the storm as more adversaries and challenges are expected to hit the two of them in season 3. Although Demelza found it easy to forgive her husband's affair with his former beau, she may not be as forgiving when she finds out that Ross and Elizabeth's secret affair may have led to the latter's current pregnancy.

As though that isn't bad enough, what about Elizabeth's husband, George (Jack Farthing), and his escalating rivalry with Ross? The upcoming third season promises to send its viewers through yet another rollercoaster ride of emotions as new and old conflicts arise.

Series creator Debbie Horsfield herself teased that along with an array of new characters, season 3's story itself will be something that viewers of the show can look forward to as it "scales new heights of conflict, feuding, passion and drama."

Ross will also reportedly be older when the series returns, but not necessarily wiser and better.

"Poldark" has no official return date yet, but speculations point at a possible spring release. In the meantime, check out the teaser trailer released by BBC.
