Porsha Williams on Homosexual Sermon Backlash: 'I'm Growing Every Day'

Porsha Williams is defending preaching a sermon about saving homosexuals years ago, after some of her fellow "Real Housewives of Atlanta" stars criticized her doing so before the stint on the show.

Williams, 32, once ministered at High Praise Christian Center Ministries in Lithonia, Georgia before her stint on the popular Bravo TV show, according to TMZ. After the publication obtained a video filmed in 2010 with Williams speaking about homosexuals, she is speaking up following some backlash.

"My heart was heavy and it's imperative for me to address the issue," Williams said in a video message obtained by People on Tuesday. "God loves all of his children."

According to Williams, the sermon was not shown by TMZ in its entirety and the core of her message was not seen.

"The sermon was shown not in its entirety, therefore the message was omitted," Williams said in her statement. "I apologize that those words hurt the LGBT community, my fans and my supporters. Life is a journey and I'm growing every day."

The video highlighted Williams speaking about all people being worthy of God's blessings, including those with issues.

"Don't let the devil tell you you're not worthy of God's blessings, he wants to use you no matter what," Williams begins. "That's why we Christians are supposed to be telling the hooker on the street, the drug dealer, the person who in the hospital who try and commit suicide, the gays, the lesbians -- we're supposed to try and save them and tell them, 'You are worthy!'

However Cynthia Bailey, Williams' co-star on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," spoke out against the message after Williams recently performed at a gay nightclub.

"To put gays and lesbians in the same category as drug dealers, hookers, and people who attempt suicide is ignorant and insensitive," Bailey reportedly told TMZ. "Especially when she just recently profited from performing at a popular gay club in NYC."

Williams' ex-husband and former NFL player Kordell Stewart believes Williams lost her way from her days of preaching the gospel. Now, Stewart insists Williams is not the woman he fell in love with.

"It seems she is willing to do anything to try and keep herself relevant. I married my wife because she was a godly woman who had accepted her calling as a minister," he recently told HipHollywood. "The bright lights made Porsha lose her way. I no longer know the person she has become."
