Potential 'Spider-Man' Reboot Titles Surface Online
Everyone knows by now that Andrew Garfield is no longer going to reprise his role as Peter Parker in "Spider-Man." Marvel and Sony have other ideas on mind and it involved dropping the actor, creating a reboot and casting "The Impossible" young actor, Tom Holland, as the new web-slinging superhero. With that being said, many are now wondering what the title of the "Spider-Man" reboot will be. The details of the upcoming film are still kept under wraps, so no one knows yet. But according to a report by The BBC, Sony may have just dropped a hint through a domain name.
As stated in the source, the studio registered the domain named SpiderManHomecomingTheMovie.com late last week. Although it doesn't say much, it has made the public speculate that it could be the reboot title of the superhero flick. The production has not made any announcement or confirmation yet so it's best to take reports with a grain of salt. But as noted in Slash Film, "Bond 23" was found out to be titled as "Skyfall" in the exact same way, so the chances of the speculations being correct isn't so impossible at all. Also, the title of the film could be in reference to Marvel's 1980's comic book run, particularly the "Amazing Spider-Man #252."
Empire Online stated that comic book storyline features cameo from Captain America, Thor and Iron Man. It also highlights the appearance of Venom, the black-suited villain. And if the rumor is true about "Spider-Man: Homecoming," there's also the possibility that the "Avenger" heroes will appear in Spidey's standalone film.
The rumors don't stop there as it was found that after the emergence of the aforementioned domain, three more domain registrations surfaced. According to Comic Book, Sony has registered domains with names as SpiderManComingOfAgeMovie.com, SpiderManGreatnessAwaitsMovie.com, and SpiderManSuspendedMovie.com. Any of these three can potentially be the title. But then again, it can be a move from the studio to angle away the attention of the fans from real title.
"Spider-Man" reboot is expected to hit theaters sometime in July 2017.
