'Power Rangers' Release Date, News: New Trailer Provides Snapchat Filter

Five inconspicuous teens are about to be in a fight of their lives to save the Earth against an intergalactic menace, but before that, it may be a good idea to let fans get a piece of that action. This can be done with the use of a phone and some snapping action.

The latest trailer for "Power Rangers" shows a lot of action, and it has gotten fans excited to finally see the all-out battle. It shows pretty much what can be expected from the movie, but a Snapchat Filter displayed in it could bring fans into the picture. What it does is something that's better left to discovery, so interested snappers can get it from the teaser and also from this link.

Aside from the added fan participation, the teaser gives more airtime to Rita Repulsa, the main villain of the film who is played by no other than Elizabeth Banks. She sees the Rangers as mere insects and conjures a gigantic Goldar to do battle with them.

Bryan Cranston is also shown in the clip as Zordon, who tells the five exactly what they are capable of doing. In a funny way, one of the teens asks who's going to be Ironman or Spider-Man, which got YouTube comments raving about a crossover.

As the usual comic relief, Alpha 5 is also seen dishing pain, or ridicule, to a small minion. With the Megazords also in the picture, almost the whole classic feel is complete, and right now viewers are just waiting for the nostalgic morphing sequence.

The film's synopsis describes the movie as more of a re-telling rather than a continuation of the highly acclaimed TV series. In the movie, the chosen individuals first discover their unique power and must learn how to use it as a team to thwart an impending danger.

"Power Rangers" is set to morph into cinemas on March 24, 2017.
