'Power' Season 4 News: Larenz Tate Joins Cast of 'Power'

Looks like things are about to get a little crowded in "Power" season because the Starz crime drama series just added another talented actor to its ever-growing cast.

Deadline reported that "House of Lies" actor Larenz Tate landed a recurring role in the show as a city councilman from Jamaica, Queens named Rashad Tate. Executive producer and cast member Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson also confirmed that Tate is joining the show with a post on Instagram.

"You already know nothing is better then what I'm putting on Tv right now. The powers that be don't want to acknowledge the show so I'm gonna just make it the #1 highest rated show on cable," he said.

Aside from "House of Lies," Tate also appeared in "Menace II Society," "Ray," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" and "Dead Presidents." His most recent films include "Game of Silence," "Girl Trip" and "Deuces."

Some have speculated that Councilman Rashad Tate may have some connection to James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick).

Last month, "Chappelle's Show" alum Charlie Murphy also joined the cast as a prison guard. With Ghost behind bars, Murphy's character should have a lot of opportunities to interact with him.

"Power" has been a hit for Starz and the network renewed the show for two more seasons back in July last year. Jackson is truly proud of the project and he said he knew it was going to be successful.

"I knew Power was going to be something special from the first concept meeting I had with Mark Canton. The fans' support for the show has been the driving force of its success and I can't wait to bring them two more seasons full of action and suspense," he said, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Power" season 4 will premiere sometime in 2017.
