Powerball Lottery News: Three Winners Will Split $1.6 Billion Jackpot
Three winners from three different states will have to split the $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot on Wednesday's draw.
According to Fox News, the lucky winners bought their tickets at Chino Hills, California; Melbourne Beach, Florida; and Munford, Tennessee. The three winners, who have not identified themselves yet, landed the numbers 4-8-19-27-34 and Powerball 10 and are said to collect 30 annual payments with an estimated total of $533 million or cash in one-third of $983.5 million at once. The same draw also made eight winners of $2 million, and 73 winners of $1 million in the country, according to Kansas Lottery's Sally Lunsford.
Everyone at Munford are excited to know who the winner is from their town, and even press from Memphis traveled there and patiently waited for the winner to come forward in the three stores that sell Powerball tickets.
The neighborhood surrounding the Publix grocery store, which sold the winning ticket in Melbourne Beach, are all gossiping that the possible winner might be from the nearby housing development. The website said that loud partying was heard there after the draw, which started the speculations that the winner is just close.
The store clerk from the 7-Eleven store in Chino Hills became an instant celebrity since he could be the one who sold the winning Powerball ticket. According to the report, the store will get $1 million bonus, the store in Munford will get $25,000, and the store in Florida will collect $100,000 bonus. People in the community are also excited for the city since one of the winners of the biggest Powerball jackpot came from Chino Hills.
According to ABC News, it took 20 draws before a winner, or in this case winners, finally bagged the big Powerball jackpot. The website said that over 85 percent of the possible number combinations were sold in last Wednesday's draw, where the three winners won the massive prize. The $1.6 billion jackpot only started as $40 million back in Nov. 7, 2015.
