July 30 Powerball Prize of $785 K Claimed By Mother of Eight
Denice Harvey, 58, a mother of eight from Manteca claimed $785,000 in Powerball winnings, ABC 10 reported. She bought the ticket at Quality Market in Capitola during a trip with her family last July. She chanced upon the ticket while scanning multiple game receipts.
At an Oakdale convenience store, Harvey asked a clerk for help regarding her Powerball ticket. They thought she had only won $785 but upon closer inspection, it was actually $785,000. The huge win could not come at a timely manner as Harvey has recently lost her car and home after her husband died. She plans to buy a little house with the money so that her children and grandchildren can visit her anytime.
In Harvey's winning Powerball ticket last July 30, she would have won and split the $487 million prize if she matched the Powerball number which was 5. Harvey matched all five white balls last July 30 which were 11, 17, 21, 23 and 32.
Powerball is playable in all 44 states in the US including Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Each ticket costs $2 and opting for the Power Play option costs an additional $1. To win the Powerball jackpot prize, players must match all numbers including the red Powerball. The Powerball drawings are done twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m.
