'Powerless' Season 1 Episode 5 Spoilers: Wayne Security Aims for Gold in 'Cold Season'
Teddy (Danny Pudi) and Ron (Ron Funches) will be up to their necks with extra work in the next episode of the DC-inspired sitcom "Powerless."
In keeping up with her goal to motivate her team to their greatest potentials, Emily (Vanessa Hudgens), director of research & development for Wayne Security, will do everything she can to convince Teddy to participate in the upcoming Wayne Innovation contest with what she thinks is his most game-changing invention yet.
But the mere thought of going up against the elite engineers of Wayne X may send Teddy into a tailspin with his own personal doubts and anxieties. Will Teddy be able to get over his own self-induced fears soon enough to win the contest for the company?

Titled "Cold Season," the episode will also feature Ron, the I.T. guy from Atlantis, being taken advantage of by the Wayne Security's big boss, Van (Alan Tudyk). Because of his good nature, Ron will be easily commissioned to put together a toy that would keep the child of Van's new girlfriend busy. But what could Van possibly be up to that he wants to keep the child preoccupied, and has even given Ron specific instructions to assemble a toy to serve this purpose?
Meanwhile, after breaking it off with her henchman boyfriend Dan/Reggie (Robert Buckley), will Emily be wary of the dating scene again, or has this experience only motivated her to keep trying until she finally finds Mr. Right? But in a place like Charm City, where the villains seem to outnumber the superheroes, will Emily's next man-friend be another henchman or someone much worse?
Also, after finally sort-of meeting the caped crusader Batman, Van seems to have been done with his Robin costume. Was he even aware that the costume itself could serve as a henchman-repellant due merely to Robin's reputation of hanging out where Batman currently is? Or are his cosplaying days gone for good?
"Powerless" will be taking a break this week, but the show will be back with episode 5 on Thursday, March 9, at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
