iPhone 6S and 6S Plus Pre-Orders Date News: Reportedly Available Starting September 11

Apple has yet to confirm if they are indeed scheduling an Apple event on September 9. While the public is eagerly awaiting this confirmation, another rumor is going around that pre-orders for the upcoming iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will start on September 11, a few days after the unveiling event. According to a report in Tech Times, another leaked report about the much-awaited iPhone announcement is pointing to this date.

The report also cited that Apple may soon be sending out official invitations to the launch event before the end of August. This is based on the company's previous practice of sending out invitations a week before a scheduled launch event. The event will likely be held at the company's headquarters in Cupertino. Pre-ordering may likely be done through the Apple website, and those who would like to be the first in line to get their hands on the much-coveted device may need to watch out for the exact time the "Order Now" button becomes activated.

The rumored pre-order date is substantiated by another report in Forbes, citing another report from mac4ever whose source is a French wireless carrier who confirmed that pre-orders can be accepted starting September 11. In addition to this, the carrier also noted that shipping will begin a week after, on September 18.

As for the specifications of the two new devices that are expected to be unveiled in a few weeks, Apple has not officially revealed any details so much of what is available online is based on rumor and speculation. The Forbes report however predicts that much like the other S models of iPhones, these upcoming devices will likely sport major internal upgrades without any major exterior design changes. Among the internal upgrades is a more powerful A9 processor, 2 GB of RAM, a better Touch ID system and new Force Touch technology.
