'Preachers' Daughters' Recap: The Girls Deal With Temptation
This week on "Preachers' Daughters," each of the girls examined the idea of purity and righteous living. The families survived intact despite the drama, though.
Taylor was sent back to Purity class after her parents discovered the revealing photos she took during a photo shoot with Demotious. At the end of the class, each girl is to take a vow of purity until marriage and receives a purity ring as a reminder of that vow. For Taylor, the class brought up more questions than answers and led her to question whether she wanted to renew her vow of purity.
"I feel like I want to take this vow seriously … I don't want to be feeling like the worst person if I don't keep it," Taylor told her friends. "If I was anyone but the preacher's daughter, I'd be looking for a window to crawl out of."
Ultimately, Taylor decided to make a vow she could live with, but not to her father but to God alone. She vowed not to have intercourse until marriage, which is what she could commit to.
Olivia and her sister went to visit Emily, the girls' sister who works as a model. Her parents were obviously worried that the trip to Los Angeles would be too much for Olivia, who is struggling to find herself after a year of partying.
The girls were more than a little surprised to see the models' behavior during the shoot. They then received an even bigger surprise when the designer of the clothing line revealed she was raised Pentecostal and was now dedicated to sobriety, then asked the girls to be in the photo shoot. Olivia managed to avoid temptation and decided to go back to her sister's apartment rather than a party with the rest of the models.
"I really feel like life without partying is a good life," Olivia told the cameras. "It was fun, a good experience, but I wouldn't do it again."
Kolby and her sisters decided to have a sister sleepover while their mother was out of town. Tawni suggested going to a tattoo parlor so that she could get a new tattoo. Kolby was fearful of her mother's reaction not only to the tattoo, but also to the fact that she was going to a tattoo parlor at such a young age. In the end, the girls decided to accompany Tawni to the parlor.
"The experience was eye-opening and gave me a new opinion on tattoos and people who have them. This is a new experience, but I have a feeling I'll be getting one eventually," Kolby told the camera.
"Preachers' Daughters" airs Tuesday nights on Lifetime.
