'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 News, Cast, Spoilers: Is Season 7 Going to Be the Last?

"Pretty Little Liars" (PLL) had a pretty big season 6 mid-season finale, as the moment everyone has been waiting for finally arrived — the revelation of A. This is the pinnacle scene in perhaps all of the seasons. After this revelation, fans can't help but wonder what's next for them, and it seems this has already been answered when it was revealed that season 6B will be coming with a five-year jump.

This might be an exciting concept for many since the huge leap in the time line means that there could be more ways the story line can head to. Although the fresh start can be the series' way of launching more trouble, it doesn't seem like it plans to stay longer on television. According to Deadline, showrunner Marlene King, who recently spoke at New York PaleyFest, confirms that perhaps there aren't a lot of years ahead waiting for PLL. She shared, "I think the fans will stay with us for so many more seasons … but I think as a group we'll make a decision on when it's time to end, and right now it's sounding like season 7."

It definitely won't be a premature ending if the show does decide to wrap up in season 7. After all, if the girls had already been able to build their lives five years off, then surely they'll be able to do so again. A would only come back into the girls' lives when they return to Rosewood in season 6b. Lucy Hale, who plays Aria, tells TVLine about what could be expected from the coming about of A once more, "'A' has been revamped, still contacting the girls through text messages and signs, but definitely a lot deadlier. It's not like, 'I'm going to tell on you,' but more like, 'I'm going to kill you if you don't give me what I want.' So 'A' is a lot edgier and smarter — and there might even be some use of emojis."

Hale also shares that one of the things fans shouldn't expect from the series' return is Aria and Ezra being together, since the five years apart will more likely put a wall between them. She said, "They're both in different relationships now. They're still there for each other, and they build a strong friendship when they start working together." However, all hope may not be lost as Hale further added, "There's still that little spark, where you're like, 'It's going down.'"

There isn't a confirmed date yet for the return of "Pretty Little Liars" season 6b, but it is expected in 2016.
