'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6B News, Cast, Spoilers: Cast Is All Grown Up with the 5-Year Jump in the Timeline and a New Big Bad Is Coming
The return of season 6B is still months away; however, it seems that the spoilers are spilling out everywhere. One of the biggest excitement that everyone is looking forward to is the big jump in the story's timeline, which is five years later. It is said that everyone will be living their own lives elsewhere, and Alison will be the only one who stayed in Rosewood because she had wanted to provide Charlotte with a family atmosphere.
Showrunner Marlene King shared with Entertainment Weekly, "The Liars have all gone away. Nobody lives in Rosewood anymore aside from Ali who stuck around to take care of Charlotte — to give her the family she never had. There's an event that happens five years later that brings them back, in part due to something that Alison needs so they have to [temporarily] leave their jobs, their mates, their homes, and come back and deal with this. Once they're there, it becomes difficult for them to leave."
Canadian actress Shay Mitchell and Keegan Allen both expressed excitement in being able to play someone close their actual ages, as well as to their viewers who have grown up with them. Their age will definitely showcase a "more adult" version of girls and what has become of them throughout the years after "A" was revealed.
With the return of the girls to Rosewood, it seems like a new villain will rise. There hasn't been much details to how he will come about, but apparently he will be referred to as "He" in the finale. He will not be anyone that viewers have seen before but will certainly have a connection to the Liars' past. King further said, "It is definitely brand new, but there's some connection to the past. Not a mystery revolving around the past, but a connection to the past."
The second half of "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 is expected to return in January on ABC.
