Spencer Digs Deep Into Mary's Darkest Secrets in 'Pretty Little Liars'
Spencer (Troian Bellisario) will make sure she knows all the details about her biological mother in the upcoming second half of the final season of "Pretty Little Liars."
One of the most awaited storylines in season 7B for the fans is the revelation about Mary (Andrea Parker). When Jenna (Tammin Sursok) shot Spencer, the girls found Mary cradling their unconscious friend. She called Spencer her child.
Series creator I. Marlene King talked about the shocking scene, teasing that Mary's confession would play a huge part in Spencer's storyline. She hinted to E! Online that Spencer will want to know more about the woman claiming to be her mother. She is also determined to interrogate the Hastings on why they kept the secret from her for a long time.
"Definitely, that was a huge revelation, not just for Spencer but for the Pretty Little Liars and for the show and for the storyline. It's definitely the driving engine for Spencer's emotional story as we come back next April," King teased.
Meanwhile, recent spoilers claim that Mary's secret past will likely be shown via flashbacks. The showrunners have reportedly chosen the actress who will play Mary's younger self.
Emma Dumont has already started filming for her scenes in the upcoming episodes. Although she is currently listed under a different name in the series, speculations claim she will actually portray the young Mary. Dumont herself gave a clue to her character. She is a patient at Radley, the same institution where Mary spent most of her young life.
Mary's connection to her twin, Jessica, is also expected to be discussed in season 7B. The same goes with Charlotte (Vanessa Ray), her other child. Now that viewers know that Spencer and "A" are sisters, new theories on the identity of the new killer, A.D., have surfaced. Some even claim that Spencer is the villain.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7B returns Tuesday, April 18, 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
