Prince Harry Jokes That Prince William Stuck at Home With 'Screaming Child'
Prince Harry is currently in Antarctica preparing to leave on a hike to the South Pole for charity. During a press conference, the Prince joked about his brother being stuck at home with a "screaming child."
Harry, 29, is participating in the walk with Walking with the Wounded in order to raise money. The British team will race a team of wounded and amputee personnel from the U.S. to bring awareness and money to the organization. It's an annual trek and this is Harry's second trip to the South Pole.
"My father was a little bit concerned," he said in a press conference. "I obviously tried to keep him calm by saying the North Pole was the dangerous one because we were walking on frozen ocean, whereas this time, yes, there's crevasses – but hopefully the guys will take us around that … apart from frostbite and stuff like that, you should be able to look after yourself."
"My brother, I think he's just quite jealous I managed to get away from a screaming child," Harry joked about his brother Prince William and nephew Prince George.
Harry is actually quite fond of his nephew and often brags about his firsts, such as his first laugh and smile. The proud uncle attended George's christening before taking off to Antarctica for training and the expedition to the South Pole. Unfortunately, Harry injured himself before the trip.
"I obviously broke my toe trying to get out of the trip – that was a massive fail – friends of mine said, 'You really need to go that step further and break your leg.' I chose not to. But my toe is probably 95 percent now, so I'm fine. Even if I mention my toe, I just see Duncan (team member Duncan Slater lost both legs below the knee) turn around and point and laugh at me or mock me," the Prince said.
The teams hope to reach the South Pole by Dec. 16.
