Prince William and Kate Middleton: Royal Wedding Dress Attracts Record Numbers
Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, from her now-legendary royal wedding to Prince William earlier this year, has attracted a record number of visitors to Buckingham Palace this summer.
The display includes the famous Sarah Burton designed dress worn by Kate, tiara, shoes, part of her wedding cake and a replicated bouquet. When it was announced a few months ago that the dress would be displayed to Buckingham Palace visitors, tickets for the palace tour were quickly snapped up.
Royal fanatics and fans from across the world quickly planned their tourist visits to London, and ensured they included a tour of the famous London landmark to get a glimpse of the world famous dress.
“We’ve enjoyed welcoming visitors from all over the world to the Palace in record numbers this summer – it has been an incredibly busy few months and we’re delighted that it’s been such a huge success,” said a Royal Collection spokeswoman.
The Palace was opened for 73 days this summer and collected over £10million from over 600,000 visitors.
The doors of Buckingham Palace have been opened to the public since 1993, when the Queen goes on holiday to the Scottish Highlands every year.
