Prince William Sings Coldplay Hits to Royal Baby? 'Can Barely Hold a Note'
Prince William has reportedly found an effective method to put his newborn son, George Alexander Louis, to sleep and it involves songs by British rock band Coldplay.
The Duke of Cambridge, who welcomed the birth of Prince George on July 22, has reportedly started belting out Coldplay songs to his son in a bid to get him to sleep. William and wife Kate Middleton, both 31, moved into the Duchess' parents' Bucklebury home after the birth of their baby and the Duke's singing is reportedly keeping his in-laws awake.
"Prince William is using a bizarre tactic of belting out Coldplay anthems at all hours of the night even though he can barely hold a note," a source told the Daily Star adding that while it is effective for the baby "[The music is] keeping Kate's parents awake."
William, who joked about being on diaper duty on Saturday, reportedly adopted his singing method while Middleton was still pregnant with baby George. The source claims he would often sing lullabies like "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Go To Sleep My Baby" to Middleton's baby bump, the source revealed.
William's down-to-earth parenting has become increasingly evident since baby George was born and a report claims both he and Middleton are fighting to give the royal heir a normal upbringing.
"William wants to raise George out of the spotlight as much as possible and give him a somewhat normal childhood," a source close to the couple told Us magazine.
The late Princess Diana, who was famously nicknamed "the people's princess" due to her humility and generosity, repeatedly broke royal tradition in order to give sons William and Harry a sense of normalcy and the Duke and Duchess will reportedly mirror her methods.
"William and Harry were very, very fortunate with Diana as a mother because her ideas were so different to the previous generation. The importance of this to her two sons has been enormous. William will want this for his children," Princess Margaret's official biographer Christopher Warwick said according to Arabia MSN News.
"[Kate's] childhood was pretty ordinary," he continued adding. "She won't want her baby to be the subject of rules and protocol before they need to be."
Diana, who was described as being a very hands-on and "rebellious" mother, was often photographed walking her boys to school, which was unusual for royals. William became the first heir to the throne to attend public school at his mother's request and Prince George is expected to follow suit.
"Both William and Kate are against boarding school. That has been ruled out," the source said.
