Princess Kate News: Duchess of Cambridge Describes Relationship of Queen Elizabeth with Prince George, Princess Charlotte
Princess Kate has revealed the relationship of Queen Elizabeth with her and Prince Williams' children during an interview with UK's ITV. The documentary interview, which is a prelude tribute to the Queen's upcoming 90th birthday, also marks the princess first solo TV appearance since she became affiliated with the royal family in 2011.
In the interview, Kate recalled how thrilled the Queen was when she gave birth to her now 10-month old daughter in May last year, Princess Charlotte.
"The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington she was one of our first visitors here," she revealed.
As far as her first born, the two and half year-old George, is concerned, Kate revealed that her son calls his queen- great grandmother "Gan-Gan." She also shared how doting the queen-grandmother is to her great grandchildren, as she always leaves a little surprise in the room where she and her kids stay.
In terms of her relationship with the Queen, Kate, who also carries the title Duchess of Cambridge, said that the soon-to-be nonagenarian queen has always been supportive of her as she continues to learn the means and ways of being a member of the royal family. Recalling one particular incident in 2012, wherein she had to join the Queen in Leicester for the first time sans the presence of her husband Prince Williams, Kate revealed that she couldn't help feeling apprehensive at first. However, it turned out that all her apprehensions were, well, just apprehensions after all as the Queen has always been generous in terms of sharing her opinion, without imposing them on her.
"She was very supportive. The fact she took the time to make sure that I was happy and looked after for that particular occasion, which probably in everything that she's doing is a very small element, it shows just how caring she is really.
The said documentary titled "The Queen at 90" airs on ITV on March 27 and will also feature interviews with Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, and other members of the royal family.
