Michael's Fate 'Unknown' in 'Prison Break' Season 5
As the premiere of "Prison Break" season 5 draws closer, FOX is doubling down on building the hype around the show's return by releasing a new poster for the limited series.
It features brothers Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) who are "stronger together" as the caption teases.
The poster also teases that "Prison Break" season 5 will see the brothers are in no ordinary predicament because instead of a prison, they will be fighting their way out of a country. Details about the first episodes of the series have been revealed as well. The "Prison Break" season 5 premiere is titled "Ogygia," which was referred to in Homer's Odyssey as the home of the nymph Calypso. As revealed in the past, the "Prison Break" limited series is somehow made parallel to the epic poem, which sees the hero, Odysseus on a dangerous journey home. The title of the "Prison Break" season 5 opener suggests it will give fans a good look at the place where Michael has been after all these years. The synopsis, which teases that "the fate of Michael Scofield is unknown," reads:
"It's been seven years since Michael Scofield was presumed dead, but when clues suggest that he might still be alive, Lincoln Burrows reunites with Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) to help track down the truth. The path leads Lincoln to Yemen, as Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), T-Bag (Robert Knepper) and C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) are pulled back into the action to engineer the series' biggest escape ever."
The writers of the show also clarified that "Prison Break" season 5 takes into account "The Final Break," the television movie that serves as the finale of the series in 2009.
The "Prison Break" season 5 premiere was screened at South by Southwest (SXSW) and has received praises from attendees who got to watch it.
"Prison Break" season 5 will premiere on Tuesday, April 4, at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
