Online sexual predators are largely a concern with parents as popular webpages such as MySpace have become increasingly pornographic. Profiles and details blogged on Internet sites give predators easy access to children's information. And children themselves engage in inappropriate activities online in terms of discussions and postings.
In response to the dangerous youth trend that shows no sign of dying down, a couple of classroom teachers produced a DVD resource that requires little effort and money to keep their children safe online.

"Parents are hearing the horrors of the Internet at every turn, but scary stories don't tell them how to protect their kids," said Julie Dixon, co-producer of the Healthy Habits Videos. "We're here to help parents go from scared to prepared."
Christian youth experts have suggested more parental involvement when it comes to online activity among children.
"We as parents have to be involved," Bob Waliszewski, director of Youth Culture at Focus on the Family, said earlier this week on a Focus radio broadcast.
Julie and Brian Dixon created "The Internet and Your Kids: Healthy Habits for Your Online Home," a training DVD to help parents set up a number of protective measures that will provide safety when the children surf the net. An entire section in the resource is devoted to MySpace.
"The majority of my students use MySpace," said Brian in a released statement, "but their parents don't know where to start to protect their kids."
Parents can also start by pointing their kids to a new Christian online social networking called Xianz.com. The website was recently opened to the public to give Christians a web space with all the usefulness that MySpace offers.
