PS4 Confirms PlayStation Camera Will Respond to Gesture and Voice Controls

The PS4's PlayStation Camera will respond to gestures and voice control much like Xbox One's Kinect, according to reports.

Unlike the Kinect, however, the PlayStation Camera will not be included with the PS4, but will be an add-on. It will come with four microphones and two cameras.

Beside the camera announcement, two other features Sony announced as add-ons were a DualShock 4 Charging station and a PS4 vertical stand.

The charging station will be able to hold two of the console's controllers and charge them simultaneously. It will retail for around $40.

The PS4 stand will be a special lock dial holder that keeps a gamer's controllers stationary while they are not playing a game, ensuring no accidental drops occur. It will retail for roughly $25.

Also, Sony clarified the PS4 $10 upgrade process for gamers who want to move up to the next generation versions of PS3 games. Initially announced at Gamescom, many gamers still had a number of questions on how it would actually work.

So far the trade up program involves Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. These games will be out at the same time on both the Playstation 3 and 4.

For people who have the physical copy of the game, a code will be included on the box that can be redeemed at the PlayStation Store online. Upon receiving a PS4, the user will then log in the same account for the PS3, and the game will be available for $9.99.

Perhaps as a safety feature to prevent users from selling off their old games; the new PS4 version of the game will only be playable if the disc from the PS3 version is also in the console.

If purchasing the game for the PS3 digitally, there will be no code, reports IGN.com. The game will automatically be available to the gamer in the online store once they sign in with the PS4.

The PS4 will launch on Nov. 15.
