PS4 vs. Xbox One: Spec Difference Deemed 'Marginal' by Microsoft Exec
A Microsoft executive from the company's Australian department recently deemed the spec difference between the PS4 and Xbox One "fairly marginal."
Alan Bowman, the company's vice president of retail sales and marketing in that area, recently discussed the two consoles with the publication known as GamePlanet.
"We're optimistic about this generation," said Bowman. "We've got a unique value proposition, and from just a pure specs perspective it's always gonna be a fairly marginal difference. The purists are gonna argue the toss, but I think it comes down to the games."
He also touched on the exclusives for the Xbox One.
"You're gonna see great exclusive games on Xbox One, and when you look at the cross-platform games, and there's gonna be exclusive content on Xbox One," he continued.
Microsoft hopes to launch the console in more markets in the coming months, according to Bowman.
The Christian Post has taken an extensive look at the Xbox One and PS4 via IGN.com's recent comparison videos.
Just to recap, the site analyzed both consoles in various departments including Controller, Online Play, Games, Hardware and Software.
The clips examine and compare different areas with both systems. In each of these videos, a closer look was taken at which system does a better job in these areas.Site visitors were also allowed to vote on which one they like better.
Both of these consoles launched toward the end of last year and represent the next-generation of gaming along with the Wii U, which was released by Nintendo at the end of 2012. The PS4 and Xbox One both got off to a good start in terms of sales while the Wii U has struggled to generate interest in the market. Despite its less-than-lukewarm reception, it probably has the strongest game library between the three at this time.
