PS4 Vs. Xbox One: Which Console Features Better Hardware
A new video series hit the internet last week that pits the PS4 vs. the Xbox One in various categories including controller, hardware, games, software and online.
The clips were released by IGN.com. The site used its own Scott Lowe to analyze what's under the hood of the PlayStation 4. See it here.
"It's hard to think that Sony has managed to cram so much power into such a compact console," said Lowe regarding the PS4. "Under the hood the PS4 is packing a high powered GPU, 8GB of the fastest graphics memory, USB 3.0 ports and a blue ray drive. And in spite of its power it runs almost silently."

The hardware he speaks of includes an x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" Single-Chip Custom Processor. It also features a camera that is sold separately that recognizes players on site and accepts voice commands to launch games and navigate menus.
The site's Fran Mirabella weighed in on the comparison and gave his opinion on why he thinks the Xbox One is a better value.
"For $499 you get a high-powered game console, a blu-ray player and Kinect, the gateway to a next-gen living room" he said. "There's even an HDMI pass through so you can watch TV seamlessly. Of course you've seen the games, they're a leap forward and just like you saw through the life cycle of the Xbox 360 it will only get better."
The console's main advantages over the PS4 are its build-in Kinect, on-board processor and multi-array microphone, according to Mirabella.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One launched earlier this year and have sold out through various retailers. The two systems along with Nintendo's Wii U represent this new generation of gaming.
