PS4 Wins Best Hardware of Show at Gamescom 2013
Playstation 4 was named the winner of Gamescom 2013 for Best Hardware of show while Destiny won three awards for the console as well.
PS4's Destiny won, Best Console Game Sony Playstation, Best Action Game, and Best Online Multiplayer Game.
Mario Kart 8 won Best Console Game on the Nintendo Wii U and Best Family Game, while Elder Scrolls Online won for for Best Role Playing Game/Casual/Online Game.
Gamescom started on Aug. 21 and ran through the 25th while over 340,000 came through the doors.
Other winners include Titanfall for Best Console Game on the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Best Next Generation Console Game.
Forza Motorsport 5 won for Best Racing Game and FIFA 14 won for Best Sports Game. Best Simulation Game was WarThunder while Best Mobile Game went to The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
Best PC Game went to Battlefield 4.
PS4 announced they will launch the PS4 Nov.15 in North America and on Nov. 29 in Europe, according to an announcement made by Sony at yesterday's Gamescom.
Sony will launch the system in 32 countries worldwide and it will be $399 U.S. and £349 in the U.K. In addition, the console's predecessor, the PS3, will have its priced lowered to $199.
"We have always been committed to making next generation products but now we're increasingly focused on making those products for next-generation gamers," Jim Ryan, President and CEO of SCEE, told The Telegraph.
Microsoft did not reveal a date for when the Xbox One would debut, and remain firm with their $100 price difference with the PS4.
