Publisher Announces Three More 'Duck Dynasty' Books
Howard Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster, announced Monday that three more "Duck Dynasty" books will be released next year.
Included in the list of upcoming releases is Phil-osophy, the second book from Duck Commander founder and family patriarch Phil Robertson, according to a press release. Robertson's first book, Happy, Happy, Happy, debuted in the top spot on The New York Times Best Sellers list and over one million copies of the book are now in print. His new title will tentatively be released in October 2014.
The other two titles will be released earlier in 2014. Faith in the Duck Blind, which is expected to be available in March, is the first book by Jase Robertson, who runs the manufacturing side of the family's duck call business, according to the Duck Commander website, and is the second-oldest son of Phil and Kay Robertson. The third title, The Women of Duck Commander, will feature stories from some of the female "Duck Dynasty" cast members and will tentatively be released in April.
Kay Robertson also has a cookbook, Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen, coming out in just over a month.
The season four premiere of "Duck Dynasty" in August was watched by a record-breaking 11.8 million people, according to a press release A&E.
But the Robertson's aren't just known for their hit show, multi-million dollar business and iconic beards. They're also known for the closeness of their family and their willingness to share their Christian faith.
Si Robertson, who is affectionately referred to as "Uncle Si," recently told CP how he feels about seeing his own image on "Duck Dynasty" merchandise.
"It's very humbling, number one," he said. "There's a lot of kids who look-up to me, and that's humbling. Because being human, I don't want to fail them. But being human, I will. That's why it's so important to have your faith put in something that won't fail you. And that means the son of God's kingdom."
Si Robertson's book, Sicology 1, debuted at the top of the New York Times Best Sellers list and has continued to hold the number one spot since its early September release. The book, which released with one million copies in print, is just one of eight "Duck Dynasty" titles that are now available or have been scheduled for release.
