'Quantico' Season 3 Spoilers: Ryan Has Competition for Alex's Love?
Alex (Priyanka Chopra) will likely attract a bevy of new suitors in the upcoming season of "Quantico."
In a recent Q & A with fans to celebrate her 20 million followers on Twitter, Chopra said she wished her character would allow herself to fall in love. Viewers are aware that she is currently in a romantic relationship with Ryan (Jake McLaughlin). Although they have had their ups and downs as a couple, at the end of the last installment, Ryan proved that he loved her enough to sacrifice his career in the CIA. The pair boarded a plane that would transport them out of the US and escape capture for the death of President Roarke (Dennis Boutsikaris).
While it looks like Ryan and Alex will be together, there is still the possibility that they will separate. In season 2, she was close to starting a relationship with Owen (Blair Underwood). The show's creator, Josh Safran, has explained why they had to curtail the romance. According to him, it was better for the story that Alex ended up with Ryan. What she and Owen had was more friendship than anything else.
"We always saw Owen and Alex as sort of a Blair and Dan [from Gossip Girl situation], which is that it's a relationship that's good for both of them because it helps them get their self-esteem back, and it's a very safe relationship and it's a very caring and loving one, but it wouldn't be where either of them end up in their lives," Safran said.
The new season is expected to dwell on Alex and Ryan's attempts to avoid capture. Spoilers indicate that they would stop over Italy to seek refuge. Alex will have to rely on her connections to stay alive since the Interpol has already been tapped to find them. Although romance will be the last thing in her mind, there will be a lot of opportunities for her to meet new people. With her beauty and charm, it will not be presumptuous to say that men will find her intriguing, even if she does have a boyfriend shadowing her every move.
"Quantico" season 3 is expected to premiere in 2018.
