Rachael Lampa Back With New 'All We Need' Album (REVIEW)

Longtime Christian artist Rachael Lampa is back at it again with her newest release All We Need, scheduled to hit shelves Sept. 27.

Lampa is perhaps best known for blasting her way onto the Christian pop music scene in early 2000 at the age of 15 with her debut single "Live for You" off the album of the same title.

After a series of releases, including a compilation and Christmas album, Lampa's All We Need will be her first complete studio album since 2004's self-titled Rachael Lampa.

The seven years between albums is reflected most through Lampa's style on the album. While there isn't a complete departure from her pop roots, there is more of a musical dynamic in the sound that intensifies the listening experience.

Lampa uses her booming voice to range over a variety of songs, from the upbeat "All We Need" to the slow and beautiful ballad of hope "Beauty's Just a Word."

Notable tracks include "Remedy," the first single off the album. It's high-energy, up-tempo rhythm showcases Lampa’s vocal ability while providing a radio-friendly, sing-along song.

The track "No Escape" has a 1950's swing vibe to it, showing great versatility and providing a little getaway mid-album.

"Uncharted Territory" is the most cleverly written song on the album, likening the discovery of North America in 1492 and the first man on the moon to finding and discovering God.

"Feel" is another slow piano ballad in which Lampa calls out to God to let her feel His arms around her.

"Cause what I need right now is something real/ I just need to feel...Then I'll fall into your arms again."

These words ring powerful and true in her voice as every bit of emotion is felt.

All We Need introduces Lampa to a whole new audience of music fans as she emerges as a potential crossover Christian/mainstream artist. With a voice as powerful and lyrics as touching and deep as hers, All We Need is just what any music fan needs, regardless of his or her beliefs.
